Hey my friend,
What a trip it has been! Mexico City, Frankfurt, Engelskirchen, Workum, Bonn, La Spezia, Elba, Capraia, and back to Elba.
These were the destinations since my last post. It’s been a whirlwind of time shifts, sleepless nights, hours and hours in the car, and finally, sailing again.
I haven’t started the refit of Santana’s chainplates and knees yet but plan to do that within the next 14 days. I’ll post a couple of photos or a video while working on it.
It was the first time my girlfriend visited Elba, and I really wanted to show her that beautiful place before I head west.
Last week, a good friend of mine stayed with us. As the winds were moderate, we sailed to the island north of Elba called Capraia. It was a wonderful trip, and it felt great to see Santana under sail again.
I have a really good feeling about the journey west and am looking forward to it.
As we are still catching up on a lot of office work, I’ll leave you with this note and a couple of photos from the journey for now.
