After sharing Part One of our full boat tour, here comes Part Two—this time, with a more honest take on what it’s reallylike to live aboard Santana, our Hallberg-Rassy Rasmus 35.
As with anything in life, every decision comes with trade-offs. And boats are no exception. While Santana is a solid, beautiful, and capable sailing home, there are of course some downsides that come with the package.
In this episode, Nike and I each share five things we truly appreciate about living on a 35-footer—and five things we’re not totally in love with. From limited space and tipsiness to csailing capabilities and off-grid freedom, we cover the full range of liveaboard reality.
And because I love it so much—Nike sent me into the “Nerd Corner,” where I dive into the history of Hallberg-Rassy, the specs of the Rasmus 35, and some fun numbers like the comfort ratio and capsize screening formula.
This video is for anyone who’s curious what it’s really like to live on a small boat, or who’s dreaming of doing it themselves one day.
That’s it for today—and next up, we’ll finally be sailing again.
See you out there. Stay curious, stay salty, Floh
