The new season of Untie The Lines just started last week, and I couldn’t be happier that Nike captured so much of our journey. Watching these episodes brings back countless memories—some vivid, others I had almost forgotten. It’s fascinating how many moments slip through the cracks when you’re constantly taking in new experiences.
Preparing Santana for the Journey
Back in November, we kicked off our journey in Port Saint Louis du Rhône, where Santana had been on dry dock. I arrived a few days ahead of Nike, a little anxious about getting everything ready in time to finally leave the Mediterranean. There was work to do—several projects, including fresh layers of antifouling—before we could splash Santana and head westward.

Returning Home to the Water
After an unpredictable summer filled with changes and moving around, I was looking forward to being back in my own home—Santana. Stepping aboard and finding everything in good shape felt like a deep breath of relief. With Nike and Boga by my side, it just felt right. I couldn’t wait to have Santana ready and be at anchor again.
Little did I know about the struggles that lay ahead…
