Hey,
Have you been finding time to get outside and enjoy some strolls? I managed to spend three weeks in Switzerland this August. Of course, a few projects popped up as always, but aside from that, I got to visit some amazing spots with friends in Berner Oberland, Valais, and Graubünden.
It was a bit funny, leaving Santana with Johanna in beautiful Elba while I headed back to Switzerland to roam around the mountains—something I’ve done plenty of in recent years. It seems like one of the recurring patterns in my life: I enjoy situations as long as they keep me slightly on edge. It felt great to soak in the beauty of the mountains, knowing I’d be back on the boat soon. It helped me truly enjoy the moment, while also embracing the boat life when I returned to Elba.
Here, summer seems to be winding down, with lots of wind, almost daily thunderstorms, and rain every few days. But I’m still enjoying it. When the sun comes out, it’s absolutely gorgeous, and when it doesn’t, it cools off enough for me to get plenty of work done—both on the boat and in my “office.”
In January, I’ll be climbing Kilimanjaro again with a group of 10. I realized during our hikes in Switzerland that I could use a bit more practice! Soon I’ll start enjoying the mountains in Elba too. The lodge on Kilimanjaro is coming along nicely, and the project at the Oasis in the Sahara is starting to take shape—but more on that another time.
For now, take care, my friend.
