patron update – 5th november 2019 (last months update)

  • by

Hey there,

I’m writing to you from our mountain house, Heidi, here in Switzerland 🇨🇭. We’re enjoying the last week before the snow arrives and making the final preparations for winter. The first snow is expected this weekend, and soon the road to the house will be closed until April.

Since we’re also getting our new apartment near Interlaken next weekend, we’re making the most of the access we still have to move things while we can!

The week in the desert was magical as always. This time, Yahya took us closer to the Algerian border than ever before, and the route was filled with more wildlife than I’ve seen on past trips. I even saw snakes 🐍 in the Sahara for the very first time!

After returning from the desert, I spent some time in Oberberg, near Cologne, and last weekend, we visited friends from Tanzania in Paris. It’s been a busy period with a fair amount of traveling, but I feel much more relaxed now than I did a month ago. I have to admit, being at anchor or sailing in a tiny boat still pushes me out of my comfort zone.

But as they say, magic happens outside the comfort zone, right?

Speaking of stepping out of the comfort zone… I recently purchased around 25 hectares of “lion land” in Tanzania’s largest national park, with permission to build a lodge there. But I’ll save those details for another time.

For now, I’m working on a few videos, but since they’re not quite ready yet, I’m sending you some photos from the past few weeks. I hope you enjoy them!

Oh, and a quick update: for the past six months, 100% of the Patreon contributions have gone to support Dalila’s education in Zanzibar. She’s doing really well and making great progress. They’re on a short school break now, and I’ll keep you posted with any new updates.

Thank you for everything, and take care, my friend.

All the best, Floh
