Are you happy? Congratulations! I’m genuinely thrilled for you. I hope you know exactly why, so that you can hold on to that feeling for the rest of your life.
Not feeling happy right now? I’m truly sorry to hear that, but I have hope for you. I hope you find the strength to turn things around in the future.
I believe happiness is a choice we make for ourselves. It all comes down to our mindset. Two people can experience the same situation and come away with completely different feelings—some focus on the positives, while others get caught up in the negatives. I’ve noticed that we tend to only give meaning to situations when we think they have relevance to our own lives. But here’s the key: we get to decide what’s relevant and what isn’t.
Of course, it’s easier said than done. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to actively choose happiness, but it is possible.
Being happy doesn’t mean you’ll never suffer or feel sadness. It’s about choosing to focus on the good, even when life is hard. There’s always something positive, even in the darkest moments. And when you learn to focus on that, you can pull yourself through almost anything. I had to learn that for myself—trust me, there’s always something to be grateful for.
No matter where you find yourself right now, I hope you discover the mindset that allows you to live your best life. Thank you for reading my reflections through the rollercoaster of 2014. I hope you’ll continue with me on this journey.
Wishing you a happy and fulfilling 2015!
