Hey,
I wanted to drop you a quick update. The rest of August I stayed in Bandol, Provence, including heavy rain and strong winds at the end of the month. On September 1st, I decided to seek shelter in the harbor and extended my stay for the entire month, to be able to travel to Switzerland.
When I left my house in Switzerland back in May, we had chilly and damp weather, which prevented me from accessing the barn where I used to keep my animals and I could bot clear it.
Fortunately, September has, so far, brought a delightful late summer to Beatenberg, and I plan to stay here for an additional two weeks. During this time, I’ll wrap up some barn work and assist my previous landlord with a few minor tasks.
Looking ahead, I plan to go back to Bandol for the last week of September, where I’ll be working on the windvane. i am looking forward to the first week of October when I will have a guest on board, followed by my mom and her friend joining for the second week of October.
As for my winter plans, I’m keeping my options open. I’ll make a decision around mid-October, whether it’s sailing back to Elba or enjoying the charms of France. Each choice has its merits.
Looking into the future, I have exciting sailing aspirations for next year. I’m contemplating a westward journey that might include stops in Madeira, the Azores, and the Canary Islands. If the idea of a sailing adventure is something for you, let’s discuss the possibility of you joining me next year.
Wishing you all the best, and if there’s anything I can assist with, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Floh
