Hey there!
I’m back in the sailing mood and loving every minute of it. I’ve been anchored for over a month, cruising around the island twice, having friends on board, sailing through some crazy winds, and even getting into a running and cycling routine. Plus, I’ve started writing again, hosted an awesome masterclass, signed up new clients, and got the new Django Tours website up and running.
Man, it feels so good when I put it all down in writing! But still, I’m dealing with some tough stuff regarding Tanzania, and I’ve had to make some hard decisions that could seriously change things for me. But for now, let’s focus on the positive stuff in this article. I mean, I’ve been feeling sorry for myself lately, and that’s just not gonna help in the long run, right?
So, I reached out to some really great friends who helped me get my head straight. I asked myself, “What can I actually control from where I am right now?” And you know what? There were three things that stood out: my coaching business, the Django Tours website, and my floating home, Santana.
I picked up the phone and called a bunch of people I haven’t spoken to in ages. We talked about future possibilities and projects we could work on together. It’s amazing what can happen when you reconnect with old pals, you know?
And then, with the help of a good friend and mentor, I gave the Django Tours website a complete makeover. I’d really appreciate it if you took a look and let me know what you think: https://django.tours.
Finally, I made sure my boat was all set to hit the water. I decided to stick around Elba for now. I know the place like the back of my hand—the island, the infrastructure, the best bays. It takes away a lot of stress when you’re in familiar territory, you know? That way, I can focus on my office work without worrying too much.
Of course, a few things on the boat broke over the winter, like the windex, anchor light, and wind meter. Even the boom vang, or the rod kicker, gave me some trouble. But hey, I fixed it all up, and I’ve already had some amazing sailing adventures.
I’ve been inviting people out, hanging with scientists, and I’ve got more visitors lined up for next week.
By the way, if you’re up for some sailing, hit me up. And if you know someone who’d be down for a spontaneous Elba trip this summer, let me know too. The more, the merrier!
Take care my friend, Floh
