In contrast to September, October has blessed us with beautiful weather, and I’m still out here anchored, enjoying every bit of it.
I’m sharing some photos and impressions from the past month, and I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I’ve enjoyed capturing them.
Later this week, I may head into the port at Marciana Marina, where I’ve spent the last few winters. During November, a friend of mine will be staying on the boat, and I’ll be back in December for a short while.
In early January, I’ll fly to Tanzania and stay until mid-February, where we’ll climb Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, followed by some relaxing days at the beach.
I’ll be back on Elba in February and March, taking care of a few minor tasks on Santana to ensure everything’s ready for our departure in June. We’ll be heading south, but our route will remain flexible. I recently installed satellite internet (which has allowed me to stay in remote bays without mobile service), so next year, I’ll be able to work from anywhere. We’ll decide on our direction—East or West—based on the weather.
Our plan is to cruise for at least 12 months, including the entire winter of 2023/24.
Several of you have expressed interest in joining us, and that’s absolutely possible! We have a spare cabin, so let us know as early as possible when you’d like to come aboard. We’ll just keep the location flexible until closer to the time.
That’s all for now. I hope you’re doing well, and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Take care,
Floh
