no sailing, yet

Hey friends,

I recently arrived at my little wooden boat, and to be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to do next. It took me some time to figure things out, and I wanted to settle on a plan before sharing the news with all of you.

This summer has been brutally hot and dry, which isn’t great for a wooden boat, as you might imagine. The wood had started drying out and I knew there were cracks running along the grain. My hope was that once I got the boat back in the water, the swelling would seal them up. Unfortunately, time worked against me, and the cracks have widened far more than I anticipated. It looks like I’ll need to replace several planks to restore the boat to its former glory.

So, I’ve gone back to my original plan: to spend the winter working on the boat and aim to have it fully refurbished and back in the water by early next year.

Right now, I’m hunting for a trailer and a place where I can store the boat for the upcoming months while I focus on the repairs, especially the planking.

As always, I’ll keep you updated on how things progress. Thank you so much for your continued support—it means the world to me!

Take care,
Floh
