Hey there,
It’s been a while, and I’m finally taking a moment on Santana, all by myself, to catch up on some office work. I had guests on board until mid-October, and then I went on a fantastic adventure through Southern France to explore the inland canals with my friend Nike from WhiteSpotPirates.
Now, I’ve decided to hang around Bandol for at least another month, till the end of November. It’s kind of a big deal for me since it’s the first time since leaving Tanzania in April that I’m sticking in one place for more than two weeks without having company or a specific work project.
I’ll be in Switzerland for a week or so in early December, and I might leave Santana in Bandol also for the entire month of December, especially because some friends are coming to Marseille for a New Year’s celebration.
If all goes according to plan, I’ll be setting sail for Elba in January and figuring out what to do with my Folkboat, which is currently high and dry in Campo nell’Elba. After that, I’ll be making some summer plans. One option is to hang around Elba, as I’ve found some sweet spots to work and avoid tricky winds. I could make some trips to Corsica and Sardinia and maybe head toward the Atlantic at the end of the season. Another option is to go to the Balearics via Corsica, spend the summer there, and then continue through the Canaries later in the year. The last option I’m pondering is leaving the Mediterranean in the spring, giving me plenty of time to explore Madeira, the Canaries, and Cape Verde throughout the year before setting sail for the Caribbean in the winter.
Honestly, I’m not sure which scenario is most likely right now. If you’re up for some sailing adventures, let me know! I’d love to have your company, whether it’s for sunbathing in stunning bays or embarking on a memorable crossing. Drop me a private message or comment on this post if you want more details.
On another note, I’ve had some pretty wild experiences this year that I haven’t been able to talk about yet, partly because I wasn’t even aware of some of them and partly due to the shock of discovering a fair share of mistrust and betrayal.
Now that things are gradually getting sorted out, or at least not getting worse, I’ve got the time, energy, and focus to put these experiences into words, and I’m open to sharing them.
As a longtime friend and supporter, I value your input.
1. Should I focus on writing about the places I’ve traveled?
2. Should I share my personal struggles and thoughts publicly?
3. Or would you prefer personal issues only for paying Patrons?
For today, enjoy some snapshots of Southern France. Let me know if there is something that you want to know or that I can do for you.
Take care my friend, Floh
